I have recently finished my Second Year at
Canterbury Christ Church University!! My second year! It has gone far too fast.
On the day of our last exam, it was our friend Elena’s 40th Birthday and we had a surprise lunch planned. We headed to Prezzo
to celebrate her birthday and had such a lovely lunch there. I had Spaghetti
Bolognaise which is my all-time favourite food! Prezzo is part of the Tesco
voucher scheme, which is probably my favourite scheme ever because it means I
get to eat out all the time on my student budget (thank you parents!). I'm not entirely sure whats going on in this post layout wise and I can't seem to change it so I apologise!
Me and my two friends April and Sophie
made her a Chocolate Cake and butter iced it! It was delicious. My mum’s recipe
is so simple – 4oz butter, 4oz caster sugar, 4oz self-raising flour and 2 eggs. Chuck it all in a bowl, and mix it up and you are sorted.
Elena then kindly offered for us to all
go on the boat trip in Canterbury which is something I have always wanted to
do! It was such a beautifully sunny afternoon and we were all on such a high
after a hard two weeks of exams. We hopped on the boat and we were greeted by
Captain Tarquin. He rowed us up and down the river whilst giving us a talk
about the history of the places. You would never have guessed that the Pizza Express
in Canterbury used to be a brothel! The trip lasted for 40 minutes and it was
so lovely to spend time with my course girls before going to meet my mum, pack
up my room and head home to Essex for a long summer!
This is me and my lovely friend Sophie
who I met just before we started Uni! Its weird to think I have known her for
two years this summer. It was nice to
spend some time with her before we headed to our own homes (5 hours away) for
the Summer as it is unlikely we will see each other due to holidays and travel
issues.
Have you ever been on the boats in
Canterbury?
