Film Review | Man From U.N.C.L.E

Man from U.N.C.L.E is definitely not the type of film I'd be desperate to see usually. It certainly comes under action films, and I'd typically prefer to watch a comedy or a romance style film. However, due to our new cineworld unlimited cards, I'll be giving a wider range of films a try, and this was one of Dan's picks.

I'm so glad I went. I wasn't excited about going at all, but by the end of the time I was so happy I had gone to see it. The film was set in the 60's in Berlin primarily, although there was quite a good chunk of it in Rome. Obviously then, half of Berlin was Russian and the other half American. I'm not going to say too much, but two spies hate each other, and end up having to work together instead of against each other.

One of the things that I really appreciated about this film was the fact that it wasn't predictable. Usually with the style of films I watch, I can have a good guess at what will end up happening but I honestly had no clue. There were some clever plot twists and that really added to making the film so good. I felt as though you got to know about the characters too in a bit month depth which can sometimes be left out, especially the Russian agent - you noticed some of his peculiar behaviours.

The acting was fantastic! I didn't recognize any of the actors, although I am pretty rubbish at that type of thing anyway. Alicia Vikander is officially my new girl crush, and I would love to have access to her film wardrobe - she wears an amazing orange shift dress with its back cut out and I have since been pinning pictures of lots of 60's fashion because she just looked so great. I'm excited to see what else she is in, she was a really good actor!

I would definitely recommend you going to see this film - especially if you think it is something you wouldn't really enjoy, I think it could surprise you like it surprised me! I can't wait to see if they bring out a sequel and I really really hope they do - the film was fantastic!

Have you seen Man from U.N.C.L.E? What did you think?
