Reading
Reading is easily one of my favourite ways to relax. Although I do go through stages of not, when I read, I tend to read a lot. There is nothing more relaxing than coming home and snuggling up with a blanket and a really good read. It's so relaxing because you are so focused on what is happening in the book instead of what is going on that you don't necessarily want to think about when you are trying to chill out. I personally can read anywhere, but I do love reading cosied up on the sofa or in a nice warm bath!
See Friends
I love shutting off and having a good gossip with the girls. My friend Georgia (from Mapped Out) and I love going for a swim and sauna after work sometimes. There is nothing more relaxing than having a good natter whilst doing some exercise too! Plus, the sauna at the end is always fantastic and super relaxing too. I love visiting other friends too, wherever they may be and just relaxing, shopping and grabbing some fantastic food with them too.
Cinema with Dan
As we have Cineworld unlimited, going to the cinema with Dan is one of my favourite ways to relax. There are always periods when there isn't a huge amount out but when there is we like to go alot - I love going to the cinema, and have started taking my blanket too to make it even more relaxing. At the moment, I'm looking forward to going to watch Miss You Already, Pan and Spectre! There are quite a few great ones out at the moment.
Bath-time
I loveeeee having baths. They are so cosy, especially in the very chilly weather! I wish I had them more often because I love just sitting in the warm water and feeling really relaxed. It is a great place to think about things and you can just leave whatever you have thought about "in the bath" as such and get on with the rest of your day. I love reading in the bath, or just lying and feeling completely relaxed.
Blogging
Obviously this was going to be in this list! I love sitting down and just writing about whatever I feel like writing about. It might be a deeper post which can help me get some of my thoughts off my chest, or it might be a post I have had in mind for a while which will make me so happy to sit down and finally see coming to life. I love it! There is also the added bonus of reading other people's blogs which can be both relaxing and inspiring too. I love catching up with some of my favourite blogs.
Spa Days
These are more rare but I love having a spa day. There is just something about going to the spa, being wrapped up in a massive and cosy towel, and being able to concentrate on relaxing and relaxing alone. There is nothing else to think about, you are in your own little bubble and I find myself always leaving the spa feeling so much better about literally everything. Roll on my next spa day!
How do you unwind and relax?
I've never ever had a spa day! I really must go, they sound amazing!
