Rhodes | Lindos

For our summer holiday this year, Dan and I spent a gorgeous week in sunny Lindos on the island of Rhodes. Neither of us had been before but we fell in love with the gorgeous white-washed fairy-light lit town immediately! It was the perfect place for us to be able to take some time out, and properly enjoy each other's company without the stresses of everyday life. Be warned, this is a pretty photo heavy post...

Staying a little way out of the hustle and bustle, we spent the majority of the week lying in the sunshine with books, Uno and ice cold drinks. Lambis Studios was affordable, clean and there was no rush for sunbeds which is the remedy for a perfectly relaxing holiday! We were only fifteen minutes away from the centre where we headed most evenings. The views were stunning, the room was clean and spacious and the pool was heavenly! It definitely wasn't the most pinterest worthy hotel ever, but it was spot on for a week of R and R.

Whilst we didn't do much, we did head down to St Paul's Bay one evening. It was stunning, and I spent my time lying on a picture perfect white sunbed as Dan snorkelled the evening away. I stupidly forgot to take my phone, but just google it and you'll be amazed. Although we didn't stay all day, you can hire two sunbeds and an umbrella from the cafe on the beach for around ten euros which seems like a bargain to me! Prepare yourself for a long walk back up the hill to the main road though...

Evenings were spent in Lindos town, wandering the gorgeous streets and devouring delicious greek dishes. I adore Greek food, and Lindos definitely delivered on the food scene. With plenty of restaurants to choose from, many of them had roof top gardens which was beautiful. It was unlike anywhere I had ever been before, and looking around at the other roof gardens was beautiful. You also had a fantastic view of the Acropolis which was stunning. You can walk up there, but we were both feeling extremely lazy - it's a great excuse to go back though!

Coming home from a fantastic week definitely put us both down in the dumps, hopefully we'll head back to Lindos again! If you are looking for sunshine and relaxation (with the option to do some exploring), I'd highly recommend this gorgeous destination.

Have you ever been to Lindos, or Rhodes?

  1. Lindos looks absoloutely lovely! I've only ever been to be the Ionian islands of Greece but would love to explore Rhodes and the others nearer Turkey :) I went to Corfu with my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago and we played lots of Uno too haha! And we also enjoyed the Greek food - Greek salad is my fave! Fab post x
