Why I'm Moving Out Of My Comfort Zone

I'm not very brave. I don't harness myself to a piece of machinery, and jump off bridges. I've never been on a zip-wire, and I don't intend to. Swimming in the sea terrifies me, and being a passenger in a car can be really difficult sometimes. As much as I'd like to, I know I will never set off with my backpack in tow to sleep in hostels across the globe.

One thing I've decided, despite my lack of bravery, is that 2017 is going to be the year that I step out of my comfort zone, and start experiencing things that scared me before. I'm constantly worrying about everything, and I think the best way for me to break that cycle is to put myself in situations which will worry me, to show myself that it will be OK, and it will sort itself out.

Number one on the list was changing jobs. Moving jobs was something that always terrified me, and whilst I did enjoy my first job I wanted to do something more suited to my personality. It's been an incredibly quick process and I'm really excited about what's in store for me next. There were so many things worrying me about making that change but deep down I knew it was right for me. I went out of my comfort zone and something amazing happened!

We've also moved out! Dan and I moved back in with my parents in 2015 after finishing university. 18 months later, and we're renting our own little house about half an hour away. I'm so excited for this change, but also apprehensive. We've been so lucky to have the support we've had from my parents, and moving out is going to take us out of our comfort zone, but this is such an exciting change! It's time to start adulting...

2017 is the year that I am going to continue to step out of my comfort zone. Only two month in, and already two massive changes; both of which are exciting and new. I'm really looking forward to what else is in store for the rest of the year!

Are you ready to move out of your comfort zone?
