A catch up

I've been struggling to be motivated enough to actually sit down and write a blog post. Life has been so busy since getting engaged, our trip to NYC and moving into our new home back in March, and come 5pm I'm just ready to sit back and relax or watch some rubbish telly. But, I'm really missing posting on this blog of mine so here goes with a catch up...

Our little home is slowly coming along. We've started making improvements in the bathroom, and the garden. We've got a long way to go home but it's so nice to have our own space and to be able to make any changes that we want to. Dan and his Dad finished off the bathroom this past week after we finally found some tiles (it's taken three months, and we found them at Reza's tiles in Cambridge, just in case you're struggling to find some!). We would also like to add a couple of prints to jazz up one of the bathroom walls too!

In the lounge, we're definitely lacking that homely feel and want to add a few personal touches. A curtain went up a few weeks ago which has made all the difference, and we want to find some prints to go on the main wall next to our TV. Ideally I'd love a print wall (perhaps something like this) but I am not hugely creative so we'll see how that goes. This one is firmly a work in progress, but the curtains makes the room much cosier in the evenings - before we were looking out at the pitch black garden through the conservatory.

Our wedding plans are also really coming along now - we've sorted the ceremony, the reception venue, the catering (mostly!), transport and my wedding dress. I've got my bridesmaids, and Dan's got his three best men in tow so we're pretty set for our bridal party. It's been really exciting planning our wedding, and I cannot wait to be Dan's wife.

We also celebrated with my Dad as he graduated with a BA (Hons) in Theology. We had a lovely day celebrating with him at his college in South London, and we were so proud of all he has achieved. Every Tuesday for the last five years he's been travelling down to study - alongside a secular job and working as a minister in training. We're all so proud of him!

Coming up over the next few months is our mini-break to Norfolk with my parents, a four day trip to Budapest and hopefully lots more of this beautiful sunshine we've been having!

What have you been up to recently?
